  1. Ashoka Ireland’s Change Nation to Bring 50 Social Innovators to Solve Ireland’s Greatest Challenges

    Change Nation is a three day social innovation platform bringing together 50 of the world’s leading social innovators to start working on some of Ireland’s greatest challenges in education, healthcare, environment, economic development, civic participation and inclusion. Change Nation is a partnership between business and the citizen sector, government, and the media.

    Ashoka’s Change Nation was launched officially on 23rd February,2012 at the Little Museum of Dublin. In the lead up to Change Nation, Ashoka has recruited a team of thirty “Change Executives” to support the 50 visiting innovators in market research, stakeholder mapping, strategy development and execution.

  2. The Norman Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application, Endowed by the Rockefeller Foundation

    THE $10,000 NORMAN BORLAUG AWARD FOR FIELD RESEARCH AND APPLICATION, endowed by the Rockefeller Foundation, will be presented every October in Des Moines, Iowa, by the World Food Prize Foundation.

    This award will recognize exceptional, science-based achievement in international agriculture and food production by an individual under 40 who has clearly demonstrated intellectual courage, stamina, and determination in the fight to eliminate global hunger and poverty.

    Owners of startup companies are surprisingly optimistic about 2012, according to the first Kauffman/LegalZoom Startup Confidence Index released by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and LegalZoom. More than one-fourth of the respondents said they plan to hire additional staff in 2012, and twice as many of them expect the economy to improve or stay the same (68 percent) as those who expect it to deteriorate (31 percent).

  4. Constant Contact Survey Reveals What Most Always Knew : Social media is a Great Marketing Tool for Events

    A new survey from Constant Contact finds that social media marketing has become a critical marketing tool for small businesses and nonprofits planning events, with 77% of event planners currently using social media to market their events, and another 14% planning to do so in the next year.
